ITiS-projektet för elever i behov av särskilt stöd
2005 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

After having read the ITiS (information technology in school) reports from a town in the middle of Sweden, I found that when the working teams mentioned pupils in a special needs education, they had quite different experiences from participating in the ITiS project. I wanted to find out why the teacher’s experiences were different, and which factors in ITiS that had influenced the teachers’ experiences in positive or negative ways? My question is: Why are the experiences from pupils in special needs education participating in the ITiS project different in different schools? With use of mind restructuring maps, the teachers have in qualitative interviews communicated their experiences from working with ITiS and pupils in special needs education. The result tells me that if pupils in special needs education get well structured schoolwork, and if the planning starts from those pupils needs, this way of working is good for them. To do this the teachers need to have time for planning, well functioning working teams, adequate technical support and a devotion to change the ways of working.
