Lärares yrkesetik - hur tolkar pedagoger några av de yrkesetiska principerna?
2005 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

This work is an intensifying in the ethics of teaching. During my education to become a teacher, I have not received much information concerning the subject and for that reason I felt that this was an interesting field to explore. The principles of the ethics of teaching is a production by Lärarförbundet and Lärarnas riksförbund written in 1996 (agreement 2000). The precise question at issue is: How do four Pedagogues Interpret some of the Principles of the Ethics of Teaching? To answer my precise question at issue I used the method of qualitative research interview. It felt relevant to me to have a conversation with my respondents. The interview questions were some of the principles of the ethics of teaching and a few quandaries of teaching. It is my opinion that it is throw quandaries of teaching that one can detect the ethics of teaching. In this work I bring out the three experts, Gunnel Colnerud, Roger Fjellström and Trygve Bergem within the subject of the ethics of teaching. Colnerud writes about loyalty towards one’s colleagues, which deals with the attitude between colleagues. Fjellström splits the ethics in to four different categories from the ethics of organisation to the personal ones. Bergem has written a book with the title, “Lärare i etikens motljus”. In the book he brings out the balance of power that is existing between students and teachers among other things. To put the students best interest in the center as a teacher was consistent through out the interviews I had with the respondents concerning the ethics of teaching. Further more the respondents were of the opinion that you as a teacher always should talk to the parents before passing on information about the student. The respondents interpreted the quandaries of teaching almost the same, that with a few exceptions. One of these exceptions was how upfront one can act in a dialogue with colleagues. With this work I feel that I have received deeper knowledge in the field of ethics of teaching, which I find useful in my role as a becoming teacher. The ethics of teaching is important when they include all activities in school concerning attitudes towards colleagues, students and other employees. Keywords: Ethics and moral, the ethics of teaching, quandaries of teaching, the principles of the ethics of teaching.
