In Sweden a lot of people are really afraid of dying. But what’s really scary is that people tend to look the other way when someone has grief or need them to be there for them when they are dying. I want to change this and talk about stuff like this in my classroom. I believe that if you prepare the children when they are young they tend to be better on this when they get older. Since I think that Buddhism is a beautiful religion and I thought that they teach there children from the beginning abut death and dying in school, I chose to go with Karlstad University to India and Dharamsala to look in to how they tech there children about death in the Tibetan community there. To my surprise we talk more about death and dying with our children in Sweden than they do with the Tibetan children. This have led me to the conclusion that in Swedish schools we should talk about death and dying from a Christian point of view, where children are more included in the process of life and death.
