My intention was to find out how teachers think about the way children learn in school. I wanted to see what differences or similarities there can be among teachers thoughts about this and how this influences their way to teach. I got the result by interviewing five teachers who works with children in the ages of six to nine years old. I made the interviews face to face while I recorded the conversations with a tape recorder. I had some questions from which I lead the interviews. The result tells that the five teachers who I interviewed believed that every child has its own way to learn. One of the persons also believed that there was a consideration of where in the learning process the child was and also a matter of time. This teacher meant that a big part in the process is about that every child needs various time to make certain progresses in learning and that it is important to meet them where they are in their learning process. All the teachers who participated in the interviews, were aware of that it needs more than the traditional method where the children sit by their desks and listen to their teachers and do what they are told to do. As a teacher you have to let the children use all their senses to learn. Some children prefer to listen to the teacher but other wants to sing a song or dance to learn things. Even you as a teacher prefer different ways to teach. Another thing to remember is that everybody has to feel that they are having fun and that they are successful at something, whatever that may be.
