Individuella utvecklingsplaner - en målstyrd utveckling
2005 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

Background and purpose The school must, and this is emphasized in the educational plan, clarify the educational objects to students and parents and furthermore the obligations and rights for students and care takers. The school is ruled by objects and results. The government aims for an education with high quality and means that this can be reached if all students knows and understands the objects of the education. The individual education plan is meant to point out possible further efforts in certain areas to be able to reach the objects. The school must be equal for all and the same all over the country, however, the school plan must also be adapted by teachers and principals at every single school. The representatives of the educational plan say they have decided what the school is supposed to do but how is a question for the single school to figure out. From the government side it’s pointed out that it’s important to strive for educational objects. In cooperation with parents we can help students to reach the objects. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether students and parents can participate in the learning of the students from individual education plans. Method The study is based on qualitative interviews. I have applied individual education plans in the class where I teach. I have been interviewing five parents and have had talks of individual education objects for 23 students with respective parent’s altogether. I’ve also been reading applicable literature in the area. Result Although the study isn’t complete, I conclude this far, that the parents sees the individual education plan as a potential for parental participation in the education. Almost every student is at some given point been in need for individually adapted education and therefore as well an individual education plan. This is based on the whole person in its different context as an individual, part of a group or at the school in its organization. The cooperation between school and families is vital in forming of the individual plans. This gives also an awareness of the objects to be fulfilled.
