Räknesagor - elevers uppfattning om att räkna med räknesagor i ämnet matematik

Abstract [en]

The purpose of my work, is to investigate school childrens understanding of arithmetic both before and after a new method, which is for them, a new way of working. A school class of 22 pupils were given the opportunity to work with Arithmetic stories. The work was undertaken, with variations, during three lessons. Aesthetical subjects such as art and drama were naturally intergraded into an arithmetic lesson. Interviews were conducted on two occasions with six second year pupils, with structured interview questions. My conclusion from the first interview was that the pupil´s answers were the result of working with their arithmetic books. The conclutions from the second interview show that the pupils experience that a combination of the aesthetical use of Arithmetic stories was very positive during their arithmetic lessons. Working with Arithmetic stories gives a pre-training for algorithems (constructing a number) and also helps with learning diffrent mathematical concepts in a natural way. This work has given me an opportunity to test the integration of my aesthetical knowledge in teaching arithmetic. Arithmetic Stories Pupils Opinion Art and Drama Interview
