Bifrostinspirerad matematikundervisning
2004 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

This examination task is about the Danish school Bifrost and mathematics. Bifrost school is working, without exception, with themes, and the starting point is something within tradition. My questions were: How does Bifrost school work with themes? How does it teach mathematics? How do Swedish educationalists feel about teaching mathematics in a Bifrost school inspired way? During my investigation I have completed interviews with four educationalists, in four different schools with one thing in common – that they all teach in a Bifrost school inspired way. My conclusions in the study are: The educationalists were attracted to the way the working method integrade the subjects. They are positive that the children can use different ways of expressing themeselves and the fact that the children are so involved. The results show that the educationalists are using the textbooks to a greater extent, but they seek a more varied education. They all want to develop the lessons in mathematic so that the children can work in a more practical way. Keywords: Bifrostinspirerat arbetssätt, Bifrostskolan, matematik, tema.
