This study examines selected philosophy textbooks, available in two high schools in Värmland, as regards their treatments of analytic and existential philosophy. The books have been examined and categorized page by page in order to determine quantitatively how much of the text is devoted to analytic philosophy, existential philosophy, or neither. Sample excerpts from the texts are provided, indicating each work’s treatment of analytic and existential philosophy. The statistical results of the study are used to draw qualitative conclusions about the adequacy of each book’s treatment of the two types of philosophy. An appendix provides exhaustive tables and graphs so that every classification made is accessible for inspection.
