Abstract [en]

This essay is based on a quantitative analysis in an attempt to investigate how upper secondary students feel about calmness. The essay will also investigate if there are sex differences. The study will also define if there is a difference between how upper secondary students from different backgrounds feel about calmness. The study is carried out through a survey where 52 students , 33 girls and 19 boys, fill out a questionnaire based on a so called attitude scale. The conclusion of the study is that girls have more need of calmness than boys. Moreover, the investigation shows that students need of calmness is affected by the environment in which they grew up and that girls are easier affected by stress than boys. Key Words: attitude scale (VAS – Skala), upper secondary school student, sex, calmness, questionnaires
