This study looks into how staff in a specific, special day school in the middle of Sweden, works with the fundamental questions of values. The study deals with this school only and mainly with the work on fundamental questions of values, even though some of its other activities are described in the background chapter. The study is based upon existing literature, interwiews with the staff and observations from four different occasions. The study is descriptive and has a qualitative approach. Questions to the staff in the interwiews were; Who will learn about the fundamental questions of values? What should one learn and with whom should one learn about the fundamental questions of values? When should one learn and where should one learn about the fundamental questions of values? How should one learn and through what should one learn about the fundamental questions of values? Why should one learn and for what should one learn about the fundamental questions of values? The main findings of the study is that the school work hard with the fundamental questions of values and that social education is one of the cornerstones. Not only the pupils but everyone around the pupils are involved in this work.. It would be interesting to do a future study, during a longer period of time and also a quantitative study, finding how many of the pupils that reach the goals of activities performed by the school.
