Det vidgade textbegreppet - att arbeta med estetiska läroprocesser, mediepedagogik och IT i ett specialpedagogiskt sammanhang

Abstract [en]

This paper describes and analyses what might happen when teachers work with an expanded text concept in a school for children with special needs. The Swedish curriculum for the subject Swedish language, defines text not only as written text but also as music, drama, art, films, theatre, and so on. The term for this is an expanded text concept.I intend to discuss the results from a competence development project, realised and performed in a school for dyslectic children. The aim of the project was to restore some of the pupils ”lost languages”, and give them the possibility to use a new toolkit for communication and narrative skills. The paper contains two qualitative interviews. Their aim is to demonstrate what consequences work with an expanded text concept, may have on teaching. The interviews are given in a narrative manner. The results from the project and the voices from the two interviews are unanimous. The work with an expanded text concept affects both children and adults in view of personal progress and self-insight. Key words such as: self-confidence, collaborative learning and having the right to use your voice, are vital.I find it essential for teachers to have the possibility to make research in their own milieu. At least to have the opportunity to make a systematic reflection on the work they perform as teachers. I have had the possibility of being in the midst of such a situation as a producer, participant and a guide. I have been on a ”journey of discovery” in a familiar milieu and therefore, I intend to discuss the difficulties of ”going native” in my paper. The paper ends with a discussion regarding the possibilities and difficulties of working with the expanded text concept.
