Helheten är större än summan av dess delar - en fallstudie om internkommunikation på ett kunskapsföretag
2005 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

In contemporary organisations and companies, internal communications are playing an increasingly prominent role. A requirement for business success on a competitive market is to be well organized internally. At the knowledge based company Kvaerner Pulping, internal communications have been part of the agenda for a long time. A recently performed people survey shows that this is an area with great improvement potential. This is where we enter the stage. The purpose of this essay is to figure out what parts within the internal communications employees at Kvaerner Pulping wish to see changed, and why. We also want to examine why the attitude towards the current internal communications differs, and present suggestions of how to improve this area. Generally, the employees at Kvaerner Pulping are satisfied with today’s internal communications. However, a few areas are unfavourably reviewed. We believe that improvements in each of those areas together would result in a progress regarding the company’s internal atmosphere. The criticism concerns the following parts: A lack of technical information as a result of company secrecy Shortage in the communicative leadership Undeveloped cross communication Difficulties in navigating the intranet The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. If only one of the parts mentioned above would be improved, it might not affect the internal communications as a whole. However, we believe that improvements in all parts together would lead to a positive development of the internal atmosphere within the company.
