We have developed a concept to educate children in ethical knowledge. We have two target groups, one which includes children between the ages 4-5, the other group includes children 6-9 years old. We want to test the first group to see if they can use our tool and absorb its educational values. The second group, we want test them to see if they would have needed our tool when they where in the same age as the first group. The purpose of these tests is also to compare the difference between the two group’s results. The subjects which they will be tested in are selected by parents and then we choose a few subjects for our tests among those chosen by the parents. Examples of subjects are bullying and theft. Our measuring and educational tool is a personal and interactive fairytale. We have developed this tool in Director (Macromedia) and the script is based on Vladimir Propp’s theories in folklores. We aimed to give the children a personal experience that would give them a feeling of being the hero in an adventure. By seeing their own name, their family’s and friend’s names in the story, it will create a bigger interest to keep on playing. Through out the story, the child will face ethical choices. To measure these, an adult will supervise the game play and take notes of the choices the child makes. After an ethical question, the child will be asked why it made that choice. This is the testing and measuring part of our tool. When the child has answered a question the characters of the story will educate it with what is ethically right, what is wrong and why. This is the educationally part of the tool. The analysis of the quantitative test, are preformed by compiling the answers from the adults, looking for tendencies and find the differences between the two groups. We have also made a qualitative research, where we have interviewed some of the children and their parents. We have also asked some pre school teachers, for professional opinions about the educational qualities to find out if they thought this product could be implemented in a pre school environment.
