Image och profil - en studie av företaget First Hotel Plaza i Karlstad
2003 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [sv]

The purpose of this essay is to examine what corporate image the personnel of the company First hotel Plaza brings to their community of interests and to see if it matches the corporate profile as it has been formulated by the company management. We used literature about corporate image, corporate profile and corporate identity and made definitions for these words. Later on we used these definitions in (the conclusion) chapter (no 5). We also used research about service company and marketing of services. To answer our purpose we used quantitative method and made an opinion poll to the company employee. In the inquiry we asked about the company profile, the service the guest receives and the staffs’ wellbeing and engagement. We believe that these will be the answer to what the company corporate image is. The answer frequency was 49 %. A part of the result was that very few of the personnel knew the corporate profile or the words in the business idea. They were, however put in a service position and they got on well in their work. On the other hand the personnel did not feel they helped to developed Plaza as a company. The company generally holds a high standard according to the staff. Our conclusions are that the employees did not know the corporate profile very well and therefore can not use it in their corporate image towards the guests. Generally the personnel feel committed to their work and important. They get on well and have quite a good unity. Since they thrive at their workplace we draw the conclusion they hand out a corporate image as satisfied employees. Since the personnel think that the company generally holds a high standard they hand out a satisfying corporate image to the potential buyers of the service. We have also been able to draw the conclusion that the company does not have a univocal corporate image with the personnel.
