The purpose of the study was to investigate how preschool teachers interact with children in the forest to emphasize biology in preschool. Semi-structured interviews, structrued observation and current observation were used on two preschools in a minor town in the middle of Sweden. Participans are total of 13 preschool children, four preschool teachers, three child minders and one extra personnel. The result of the investigation show that the preschool teachers state that the forest is a good environment to learn motor skills and that the children often become calmer when they arrive to the forest. All of the respondents stated that they enjoy spending time in the forest with the children. The results indicate that the preschool teachers and child minders work more with biology than they answered in the interviews. Almost all of the respondents told me in the interviews that they often use cards with a mission to the children in the forest. The children get to implement their mission by using all the material that the forest offers them.
