Exportkonsulterna is a company that connects companies in Sweden with consultants in Europe and the US. The company has had some problems with their business. The interest from customers and consultants has not reached the expectations that existed when Dan Larsson started the company. The objective with this essay is to investigate the company as a whole to be able to understand why the business is not working according to the plan. This will provide suggestions and recommendations to Dan Larsson and Exportkonsulterna on what changes that are needed to have a well working business. The essay is based upon three main areas. The first area is called Internet based business models and that handles how important a highly developed business plan and strategy is for the business. The choice of information, communication and transaction means are an important part of an Internet based business model for it to function as it is supposed to. Almost every company today has a webpage where they present themselves and their products. To use a webpage is a very good way to spread information. The next area handles what should be considered when a webpage is developed. Usefulness, credibility and design are three important areas that companies should be taken into account when they develop their webpage. The last area handles marketing. To get the customers interest and attention the marketing needs to be adapted to the direction and target customers of the company. If an incorrect marketing method is selected the message might not reach the recipients it was meant for which in turn will lead to high costs.
