The narrative text in early years education : Differences between boys and girls in narrative writing (English)
Abstract [en]

The aim of this study is to investigate if there are differences between boys and girls in how they write narrative texts. The method for this investigation is gathering of texts from students in year one and then later do a comparative investigation in order to determine if and in that case what differences there are between the texts. The texts have then been analyzed with re-spect to vocabulary, spelling and chronological action. The result shows that there are differ-ences between boys and girls in how they write their narrative texts. The study also suggests possible explanations to why the results differ between the sexes and what consequences this means for the teaching and how the Swedish school can enable an equivalent education for all students.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka om det finns skillnader mellan hur pojkar och flickor skriver berättande texter. Metoden för undersökningen är insamling av texter från ele-ver i årskurs 1 varefter en komparativ undersökning gjorts för att undersöka om och i sådana vilka skillnader det fanns mellan texterna. Texterna har analyserats med avseende på ordför-råd, stavning och kronologisk handling. Resultatet visade att det finns skillnader mellan könen i hur de skriver sina berättande texter. Studien föreslår också möjliga orsaker till varför det ser olika ut och vad detta får för konsekvenser för undervisningen och hur den svenska skolan kan möjliggöra en likvärdig utbildning för alla elever.
