Improvement - förbättring av arbetsmiljön
2005 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

The wood measurers are a group of people who sits a lot while working. This leads to occupational disorders common among wood measurers, such as pain in back, neck, arms and hands. Sitting a lot and performing one-sided movements on the keypad during the working day are the main working related problems. Ergonomics all over Sweden talks a lot about the importance to have the opportunity to change working positions during the day. The report handles the examination work, pre-investigation of wood measurer’s daily work, a deepened learning about ergonomics and interview techniques, the different stages of development work and the result in forms of a •nal prototype. All people who have supported us during this work are named and we describe in which connection they have contributed with their knowledge. The chair of the measurers now offers the possibility to sit, stand and half stand (our definition of saddle sitting) during work. Every single person shall be able to make individual adjustments. All types of adjustment should be correct in an ergonomic way. The result is a new kind of chair, built up as a prototype ready to be used. The arm rests offer the right material, the right angles, the right installation potentials and the right ergonomic placing. Remaining work is a new type of keypad for the wood measures.
