Scientific tourism is a new type of tourism. It is based on cooperation between scientists and tourism contractors. The purpose of scientific tourism is to spread knowledge about research to the public. It is a type of cooperation where the scientists work is combined with the tourist contractors experience of dealing with tourists and their needs. My purpose with this project is to investigate the conditions of scientific tourism in the lake of Vänern. The study is based on, among other things, interviews with parties concerned for the project. The study is also based on literature and reports that have been analyzed for the understanding of the subject. Finally my conclusion is that there are satisfactory conditions of scientific tourism in the lake of Vänern. There are resources to base scientific tourism on and the target group is increasing. Finally the conditions of cooperation between different actors are favourable.
