There are several positioning techniques, each with differences in performance and cost. This report evaluates positioning technologies by looking at their performance and their respected advantages and disadvantages. Conclusions are made from different perspectives depending on the quality most valued. The report presents a comparison between different enablers and different formatters. The comparison is made on a structural level, but it does not compare the performance of each enabler and formatter so it is somewhat elementary and on a basic level. Therefor no conclusion could be made from the comparison between them. When the number of location-based services increases the end users integrity and privacy can be violated.
