Teachers Training Centre Dharmasala - en fältstudie av exiltibetanernas lärarutbildning i Indien
2006 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

Following the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1949, the Dalai Lama and thousands of Tibetans had to escape to India. Since 1959 the Tibetans are living there in exile. In India they have formed an exile government, and one of their main priorities has always been the welfare and education of the Tibetan children. In India the Tibetans have their own schools and since 1995 also their own teacher trainee program. This essay aims to give more information about how the Teachers Training Centre in Dharamsala, India, works and what characterizes education for a people living in exile.
