Abstract [en]

In the 1990s companies and publicadministration have been exposed to large change transformingpressure. Examples of that from our world is an increasing global market, technical development, and the substantial savings within the public sector. These factors claim the renewal of the organization of work. Increased flexibility from the labour, lowering and staffreduction have led to increased load and stress for many workers, which are important factors behind the substential increasing number of persons who have been away ill for a long time in Sweden. Increase of persons who have been away for a long time has attracted much attention to the society of today. At Karlstad University a project is going on under the name of “Långtidsfriska i Värmland – Ett vardagsbaserat hälsoarbete”. We got in touch with the project and found it interesting. We acquainted us with the report “Hur är det fatt? Från gråt till skratt” which is attached to the Policedepartment in Värmland and it´s a part of the project. The purpose with our paper is to describe and a create a deeper comprehension for how the organization can act so less co-workers will be away ill for a long time. We have made a qualitative study based on three interviews with persons with experience of beeing away ill for a long time, on the basis of their descriptions create deeper comprehension. This paper is built on four main-points and they are changes of organization, organization of culture, leadingstyles and motivation. With help of these four main-points we fulfill our purpose. The main-points run like a red line through the entire work. In the final discussion of our work we’ve chosen to focus on seven keywords from the analysis of the paper. Those are trust, support, adaptability leadership, part of the organizations goal, involvement, security and information. Our conclusion is that the keywords can work as keywords to how organizations are to act to get less co-workers beeing away ill for a long time.
