Den gode regissören - konsten att inte vara kvinna
2003 (Swedish)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year))Student thesis
Abstract [en]

It is a critical situation in Swedish film-industry, at least if you see it from a view of equality. Between 1992 and 2002; 90 percent of the Swedish-produced movies were directed by men. In this paper I try to find out why there are so few female-directors in Sweden. Basically, I find and discuss two reasons: the first is a consequence of the paradox that Sweden not only is a democracy, but also a gender-system. The second is the Swedish Film Institute, which I find too conservative and commercialised
