The study has been done with the main purpose of reducing the use of ferric chloride whilemaintaining treatment at a municipal treatment plant in Karlstad. The biological part of thepurification is investigated to some extent, but the focus is on the chemical part and the use ofthe precipitation chemical iron chloride. Today, ferric chloride is dosed after the flow ofwastewater.
