Den sociala konstruktionen av beteckningen häxa - hur häxan har tolkats från 1400-talet och framåt
2006 (Svenska)Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (magisterexamen)Studentuppsats (Examensarbete)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of the present essay was to get a conception of the definition ”witch” and how it has developed from the 15th century up to our days. The primary interest was to see how he/she were living in relation with the interpretation and also see how people looked at the witch. The questions that was answered in this essay was: What is a witch and how has he/she been interpretated through history? Who was he/she through christianity and why was he/she accused? What did the witch -hunt look like in Sweden and Northern Europe? How did the inquiry and the sentence look like? To get the answers a research called genealogy has been done. The analyses suggest that the power, which was ruled by the church during this times, took part and shaped this interpretation of the witch and by threatening the people, mostly the diverge, they kept them faithful to the ”true faith”.
