Elevers förmåga till självvärdering och deras uppfattning om svenskämnet
2004 (svensk)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Oppgave
Abstract [en]

The main purpose of this study is to analyse schoolchildren’s capacity for self-evaluation. The focus on the analyses are on the pupil’s self-evaluation interaction with maturity and experiences. There is a significant difference in self-evaluation between grade 7 and 8. Many boys are very immature in grade 7 and they have difficulties to form an opinion about themselves. There is also a difference between girls and boys. Girls seem to have a good self-knowledge and in comparison with the boys they’re more critical about how they’re working at school. But in grade 8 both boys and girls have a high capacity for self-evaluation. Another purpose of this study is to examine pupils idea of Swedish as a school-subject. Most pupil’s think that Swedish is to write and read. Many also mean that Swedish is to talk and to work with grammar. A further purpose is to find out which opinion pupil’s have about “learning”. A lot of the boys want to learn something “useful” then they study Swedish. But the girls are more open in their attitude towards learning Swedish. “Logbooks” and interviews were constructed and used to measure the pupil’s self-evaluation as schoolchildren and their opinion about Swedish as a school-subject. The analyses of data is made in a qualitative way.
