Nyhetsbilden på intranät - ska, bör och kul att veta!
2004 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

In our essay we discuss the philosophy behind the newsframe in the Dagens R&D. This is a daily newspaper that is produced for the staff of the Research & Development Services Department of TietoEnator and is posted on ”Focus” - the company Intranet. Our aim is to describe the intranet: as a channel for internal news and examine the character of the publication and its editorial content. To answer these questions we chose to analyse the content of Dagens R&D, over the period of 14th to 27th November 2003. We chose to interview three members of the editorial team who work on the paper, to get their facts and opinions. The chosen literature within communication, gatekeeping and newsworthy formed the basis of our investigation and final analysis. Our investigation shows that the newsframe in Dagens R&D is a reflection of current events within the company. The management has set the overall criteria for what is published. The news is intended to reflect the goals and direction of TietoEnator. Economic topics, such as Company Results and developments, are often reported in the paper. When reporting current events, we found that the editorial staff follow the guiding principles of: Should, Would and Fun to Know! We can see that Dagens R&D is a channel for the management to reach out to staff within the organisation and to keep everyone informed about developments for TietoEnator. The paper is also a way of enticing staff to use the Intranet.
